Join us in our KES hand made poppy project

KES News

Dear OE

With Remembrance Day on the horizon, KES is planning to embark on an ambitious project to produce a Remembrance display from home-made poppies, such as can be seen increasingly in the news in November each year, with cascades of poppies running down buildings or walls.

The hope is that this would be a collaborative project involving the entire KES community - current and former pupils, staff and parents.  All we ask is that interested parties produce, over the next few weeks, a simple knitted or crocheted poppy (or several) that would then form the basis of the display. I have included HERE a link to design ideas from the Royal British Legion, but these are by no means the only way to proceed, and you should feel free to put forward and experiment with their own designs. Poppies can, of course, be of different sizes as well.

If you are interested in helping with this, could I please ask that the poppies be delivered to me at KES before the end of this half term on 24th October. This would then allow us to put the display together over the half term break.

Please feel free to get in touch should you have any questions.

All best wishes,

Mr Diver
Head of History
