KES News

We are looking for members of our OE community to help us at this year's forthcoming careers events.

Careers and Skills events

These two events will take place on Friday 20th March and Monday 6th July, from 2.00pm-4.00pm  and involve Year 8, 9 and 10 students.  The events will be split into two sessions:

Session 1 – Careers Carousel (Year 8 or Year 9) 2.10pm - 3.20pm
OEs will rotate between groups of 12-15 students sharing insights into their career journey, key highlights, and the essential skills that contribute to success in their field.

Session 2 – Year 10 Showcase and Feedback 3.20pm-3.40pm
OEs will visit the Year 10 Showcase in the Sports Hall where the students will be presenting their recent learning using an A1 visual aid in a trade stall–style exhibition. OEs will be invited to give their professional feedback.

Annual Futures Fair

Our annual Futures Fair will take place on Friday 1st May from 8.30am-1.00pm. This event will be a careers speed-networking morning giving students the chance to learn about career pathways, degree routes, apprenticeships and early career opportunities.  The format of the day is as follows:

Session 1 – Year 11 Panel discussions 8.45am-9.10am

Year 11 will take part in small panel discussions on university and early career choices.
**For this session, we are particularly looking for volunteers who have recently graduated, and those on degree apprenticeship programmes, to share their experiences of each of these routes.**

Session 2 – Year Group visits to Futures Fair 9.00am-1.00pm
Students will visit the Fair in their year groups to have the opportunity to meet and talk to representatives about working within their industry.

We would really value your involvement at any or all of the above events.  If you are able to join us please do drop us an email on edwardians@kes.school and one of our Careers Team will be in touch with further details.
