July 2024 saw the inaugual KES Founder's Day celebration take place; a day dedicated to marking the establishment of our school in 1553.
The event commenced with a Thanksgiving Service led by the Chaplain reminding pupils of our rich history, notable alumni and our founder, William Capon. Pupils then competed in a range of House activities with results contributing to the Allen Grant Trophy competition. An afternoon of sporting events showcased many talents but the highlight was undoubtedly the staff v pupil cricket match. Heavily contested by both sides, the game ended in a tie with the staff team unable to gain their much needed 2 runs off the final ball. In a change to the usual September Prize Giving ceremony, this year's event was held in the evening of Founder's Day giving a further celebratory note to the day as we recognised so many our pupils' remarkable achievements over the past academic year.
