Michael Kingsland (KES 51-59) OE and former Head of School sadly died on October 12th 2025. Whilst at KES, Michael was secretary of the Photographic and Film Societies and a committee member of the Scientific Society.  As a schoolboy though, his great interest was scouting and he served as Patrol Leader and Assistant Scout Master as well as Regional Secretary. Upon leaving KES, Michael read Chemistry at Imperial College, before moving on to Southampton University for his doctorate. After two years as a post-graduate at University of East Anglia, he joined Exxon working in a variety of roles for his entire career in Abingdon, Southampton and Brussels.
