OE Updates

Nuzhath Siddiqua (KES 16-23) is currently in her 3rd year studying Neuroscience at Cardiff University. Nuzhath kindly gave up her time this week to come into school to deliver a presentation to Year 11 Biology students about stem cells and whether they may offer a cure for Huntingdon's Disease. It was great for our students to hear about some of the most recent trials, looking at induced pluripotent stem cells. These potentially can replace lost spiny neurones; giving a real example based on what they learn at IGCSE. It was a fascinating talk providing a great chance for our current IGCSE students to hear from a member of our OE community. Nuzhath studied Art, Biology and Chemistry at A Level and the students were interested to hear how she had made decisions about what to study in the Sixth Form and beyond.
