This week KES Sixth Formers were treated to a session from two of our most recent OEs, Sesika Norgbey (KES 20-25) and Hilda Panford (KES 20-25). As part of Black History month, the girls spoke about their African culture and heritage, explaining the importance and relevance of their traditional clothing, food, customs and names, all of which contribute to their unique cultural identities and communities. They also explained the origins of the Notting Hill carnival, the historical figures who helped establish it and the events that led up to the Notting Hill riots of the 1950s. It was wonderful to hear such first hand accounts from within our OE community.
