Richard Morris (KES 82-89) has worked in advertising for over 30 years. This week we were delighted to welcome him back to KES to talk to our Sixth Form pupils. As well as explaining the advertising landscape, giving real-life campaign examples and speaking about global trends, Richard spoke openly about how AI is disrupting the sector, and the challenges and opportunities that this creates. He emphasised the need for hope in periods of great change, and his belief that human ingenuity and creativity would be key to what, he hopes, will be a renaissance of creativity and become a golden age for the industry. Richard was also able to offer advice on the key character traits employers look for in graduate employees as well as extolling the importance of good teamwork in the workplace. He encouraged pupils to seek a career doing something that they are passionate about as this would ultimately intrinsically motivate them to succeed. Our thanks to Richard for sharing his expertise with us all – it was an inspiring morning.
