Ben Dobson (KES 79-85)

Ben Dobson (KES 79-85) and son of former Head, Colin Dobson, launched his new book 'Too Good to be Forgotten' in February. The book focuses heavily on Southampton - the football club and the city - primarily across the years 1975-1985. It analyses the role of Lawrie McMenemy and what his unfathomable success with the club meant to the city and the wider community as they were put on the map as never before. The book features a foreword from McMenemy and includes contributions from ex-players and fans. One of the latter, in particular, will be familiar to many OEs - former English teacher and Assistant Head, Dave Dykes. The book can be purchased in bookshops and online.
